
In this weeks Torah portion
Noach we read about Noah's flood. The spiritual flood symbolizes the persons materiel1 distractions, distractions of making a living, childrens education etc. On may ask: why does G-d cause me to have such worries and distractions? I mean if G-d wants us to serve him properly why does he place these challenges in front of us? the answer: G-d wants us to appreciate Yiddishkeit, that is done when we serve him through challenges. This is the meaning of the verse in song of songs: "great waters cannot extinguish the love". the many waters of wordly worries cannot extinguish a Jews yearn and desire to become close to G-d by performing his Mitzvos.
